Hotspot (DVMEGA BLUESTACK) access to hear/connect to the DMR-MARC CANADA NET

A question was asked April 30 2017
Thanks for your question on the DMR-MARC CANADA NET.

Question :    From Alex VA3CKI
The question asked is:

Can I hear/connect to the Canada NET using my HotSpot (Blue DVMEGA) ?

Portable access would be useful when travelling or in areas hard to connect to a repeater.

It appears that the Brandmeister and DMR+ is only available on HotSpot operation. I have not tried the DMR+ yet.

Summary of operation for VA3CKI:

I now have my DVMEGA BLUESTACK connected via Raspberry Pi3. The Raspberry Pi connects to my network via WiFi or DVMEGA BlueStack standalone in mobile via smartphone data.

At home, Hotspot connected to DMR Master 3021 CA and 4326 for Canada Eng. Or whatever I chose to connect to.

The setup works fine with quite a long range at 20 Mw to portable or mobile.

A hotspot is wonderful for situations where no or questionable repeater connect is possible.

My portable to XPR is dismal within the house in Vaughan. Portable with external antenna in attic is good, but then not portable.

With hotspot, portable is good within ¼ mile and more. Thus “portable”.

Regards
Alex - VA3CKI
